Steve Gandy Recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for Excellence in International Business

Steve Gandy has handled engineering sales contracts with clients in Asia, Africa, Europe and the Middle East

    TELFORD, PA, July 25, 2011 /Computer PR News/ -- Steve Gandy, Vice President of Asian Sales and Operations for Metso Automation, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in international business.

With 34 years of corporate experience, Mr. Gandy has become a respected authority on hardware and software design. He lends his expertise to Metso Automation, a control systems engineering sales and operations company. During the course of 10 years as vice president of Asian sales and operations, Mr. Gandy has traveled extensively, dealing with customers in Asia, Tanzania, Ukraine, Egypt and the Middle East. He works with both subsidiaries and partners, explores new markets, and handles contract negotiations, joint ventures and potential acquisitions.

Mr. Gandy is credited for his role in signing Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), a leading supplier of equipment to the Indian power market, in 2000. Renewed for another 10 years in 2009, the contract is an exclusive agreement for BHEL to manufacture Metso Automation's control systems for the Indian power market. The value of Mr. Gandy's contributions was highlighted with a Top Achiever Award, bestowed in 2004 by Metso Automation. He attributes his success to his ability to cross the cultural divide and build trust with clients.

A loyal alumnus of The Open University in the United Kingdom, Mr. Gandy obtained an MBA in 1999, a professional diploma in management in 1995, and a professional certificate in management in 1994. Additionally, he earned a Higher National Certificate (with endorsements) in electronics, microprocessors and microwaves in 1981. He is a member of The Institution of Engineering and Technology and the Association of MBAs. Within the next few years, Mr. Gandy aspires to run his own company.
