Tommy Joe Morris Recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for Excellence in Defense

Mr. Tommy J. Morris has provided innovative services to the defense field for 25 years

    FALLS CHURCH, VA, November 18, 2011 /Computer PR News/ -- Tommy Morris, Director of the Deployment Technologies and Support Program for the U.S. Department of Defense Health Affairs, Force Health Protection & Readiness, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in defense services.

Possessing 25 years in his field overall, Mr. Morris has honed his expertise in information technology and mobile computing technologies. He has served as the director at the Department of Defense for the past 6 years. His day-to-day responsibilities include managing technologies for deployments, providing support to U.S. service members and their families, and working in collaboration with the Joint Staff and the military health systems chief information officer. Additionally, Mr. Morris integrates medical lessons learned from previous conflicts into current policy and develops policies on current and emerging information technology. In the past, he has served as a public speaker on technologies, mobile computing and telemedicine.

Accredited by National Defense University, Mr. Morris is a certified chief information officer, certified enterprise architect, and is knowledgeable in training information, security and cyber security. He also has qualified as a level III program manager. Showing outstanding service to his field, he serves as an executive member of the Information Technology Acquisition Council. He is also affiliated with the National Rifle Association, Non-Commissioned Officer Association of America, American Telemedicine Association, and Special Operations Medical Association.

Mr. Morris holds U.S. Patents in information technologies. In light of his accomplishment, Mr. Morris has been recognized three times by Microsoft as a Most Valuable Professional. He has been honored with a DoD Exceptional Civilian Service Award, Social Security Administration Team Award for Innovation. Additionally he had been nominated for a Wired Magazine Medical Scientist Rave Award and was a finalist for the prestigious Frank Brown Berry Prize, U.S. Medicine. In years to come, Mr Morris plans to continue providing exceptional products and services and grow professionally.
