PassMark Software Releases OSForensics. Digital forensics for a New Era

PassMark Software has introduced OSForensics, an e-discovery toolset that offers a competitive solution for extracting forensic data from computers, quicker and easier than ever.

    SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA, November 05, 2011 /Computer PR News/ -- For immediate release: 12 October 2011

PassMark Software has introduced OSForensics, an e-discovery toolset that offers a competitive solution for extracting forensic data from computers.

Discovering relevant forensic data is made quicker and easier than ever, with high performance file searching and indexing capabilities. OSForensics can index gigabytes of data and then perform lightning fast searches for text contained inside documents and email archives (including .pst format). Search results can be analyzed as file listings, thumbnails, or a timeline view so that significant system activity can be pinpointed.
OSForensics can help indentify suspicious activity and files hidden within e-mails, memory, and binary data using methods such as hash matching and drive signature comparisons. Deleted files may be recovered, even after being emptied from the recycling bin either manually or automatically via propriety carving techniques. With a single click, OSForensics can uncover the user actions performed recently on a system, such as recently opened documents, web browsing history, connected USB devices and connected network shares.

Detailed system hardware information such as CPU type and number of CPUs, installed hard drives, serial numbers and connected USB devices is easily uncovered with OSForensics. Live memory analysis is also possible via dumping of physical RAM or virtual RAM.

OSForensics offers an array of features for password recovery and decryption. Web browser user names and passwords from IE, Firefox and Chrome can be recovered in one click, on both live machines or from a hard drive image. Rainbow tables can be generated and searched for hash cracking, and decryption and password recovery of Office documents is made possible using a brute force attack or sophisticated dictionary attacks.
For convenient and organized execution of digital investigation, OSForensics also allows users to create, load, and save managed cases so that users can view and create reports about collected forensic data.
OSForensics costs $499 for a single user license and is compatible with Windows 32bit and 64bit.
