McAfee: Attackers From China Have Hacked Global Oil and Gas Companies
*IT security company McAfee says it has found out about computer hacking on un-named global oil, gas and petrochemical companies, and individuals and executives in Taiwan, Greece, and the United States, to acquire proprietary and confidential information.
October 28, 2011 /Computer PR News/ -- McAfee told the BBC that 5 oil and gas companies had confirmed that the attacks took place, and the attackers were looking for documents about oil and gas exploration and bidding contracts.
The source of the attack is said to be from 'several locations in China'.
McAfee says that the attackers managed to get control of hosted IT services, and they compromised servers in the Netherlands.
