Success of Emque's Foreman Leads the Way for Additional Commercial Construction Management Applications to Run Wirelessly from iPads, iPhones and Android Devices
New technology enables more members of the contracting team to do their jobs untethered to a desktop or a laptop.
HAUPPAUGE, NY, September 15, 2011 /Computer PR News/ -- Building on the success of 'The Foreman', a suite of mobile applications running on an iPad designed for construction foremen, Emque, a Long Island based custom software developer of solutions for high-end commercial contractors, has expanded its product line to include applications specific to the needs of commercial construction industry Owners, Project Managers, Executives and even Expeditors managing movement of material and tools.
First Emque introduced 'The Foreman', a wireless and voice activated application that allows a user to make material requests, enter payroll hours per worker, and create field work orders wherever they may be. Next Emque released 'The Owner', a suite of applications that allow construction company owners to get an overview of all of their company's financials, receivables, payables and project data also designed for an iPad or Android device.
Integrated with these wireless technologies, are cost effective applications that empower the back office using Emque's accounting, job costing, payroll, estimating, purchasing, service order and project management functions. Current plans call for iPad- and iPhone-based applications that will enable project managers and executives as well to perform their daily functions without being tethered to an office environment.
The Foreman makes use of voice activation and signature capture, providing real time data to the office server for pricing and billing. Data processed using "best practices" construction leader Emque's wireless applications are immediately available in the office server for creating purchase orders, processing payroll and pricing and billing of tickets and change orders.
"Until now, paperwork - which can amount to millions of dollars a year for some contractors - was completed in the field," says Mike Quagliarello, founder and president of Emque. "Paperwork has been an extremely time-consuming and difficult area of the construction business to track and control. It could take weeks to a month from the time a task was completed until a bill was presented. With the Foreman's wireless and paperless capabilities, we've reduced that time to one day. "
Using its creative skills and over 25 years of experience developing software for the commercial construction industry, Emque's products allow commercial construction company decision makers to process company data untethered to an office desktop or terminal server.
As seen on Fios1 news June 24, 2100, a project manager uses the wireless Foreman as he oversees construction on Resorts World Casino in Queens. "The Foreman makes my job so much easier from a tracking perspective," he says. "I use it every day to track the work employees have done and the materials they've used."
Another satisfied customer is Warren Ostroff, owner of New York-based Ostroff Electric. "I don't like working on a laptop, so the iPad capability was a welcome addition. Now, with the wireless performance enhancement, the process is speeded up tremendously on my iPad. It's phenomenal." Ostroff's iPad runs 'The Owner' app from Emque that allows him to get an overview of all of his company's projects and receivables.
